Home Upgrade Services
Qualifications for no cost electrification
Customers that meet the below eligibility requirements may qualify for no-cost home upgrades.*
- Customer must be a PCE residential customer
- Customer must be the legal owner and occupant of the residence
- Customer's residence must be a single-family home (up to a fourplex) with existing gas-fired equipment
- Customer's residence must be below 2,000 square feet
- Customer must meet the below household income eligibility requirements and be able to provide supporting documentation
- Customer's investable assets¹ must not exceed $500,000
- Customer must not own multiple properties
* Those customers that do not qualify will still have access to low-cost full-service installation services (available in Fall 2024) and incentives to make the switch more affordable.
¹Investable/liquid assets include education/custodial accounts, individually-owned retirement accounts, stocks, options, bonds, mutual funds, managed accounts, hedge funds, structured products, ETFs, cash accounts, annuities, and cash value life insurance.

Instructions for counting household size & gross income
- The household size is the Tax filer plus all persons expected to be claimed as tax dependents on your federal tax form.
- For the purposes of PCE Home Upgrade Services, gross income includes both taxable and non-taxable income sources. This includes, but is not limited to the following: Wages, unemployment, workers' compensation, Social Security, Supplemental Security Income, public assistance, veterans' payments, survivor benefits, pension or retirement income, interest, dividends, rents, royalties, income from estates, trusts, educational assistance, alimony, child support, assistance from outside the household, and other miscellaneous sources.
- Only count the gross income of the family members included or who will be included in your federal tax form.
Income Verification
Household income eligibility verification
Customers can provide proof of their gross household income via one of two ways:
1. Categorical Eligibility
If the Customer participates in one or more of the public assistance programs on the Categorical Eligibility List, they may submit documentation confirming their participation

2. Income resources
The customer may submit their most recent federal tax returns. If tax returns are not available, other proof of income can be provided.

Tax returns (default) for all people living in the household who are over 18 years or older
